    The San Fernando High School Alumni Association is a team of SFHS Alumni who is dedicated to giving back to their alma mater. We are committed to providing financial support to current and future SFHS students, as well as sponsoring activities that widen and enrich our students’ horizons. All of this can only be realized through the support of individuals like you!

     

    Since 2003, the SFHS Alumni Association has awarded more than $135,000 in college scholarships to deserving SFHS seniors. In addition to scholarships, the SFHSAA supports activities widen and enrich our students’ horizons.

     

    The SFHSAA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. All donations are tax deductible.

  • 2026 Scholarship Application

    Please read the entire section before starting your application.

    Purpose

    The San Fernando High School Alumni Association was founded in May, 2002.The purpose of the organization is three-fold:

    1. To support the vision and mission of the school.
    2. To provide a support base for current SFHS students by awarding scholarships to deserving seniors.
    3. To provide a networking structure for all SFHS alumni.

    Number of Scholarships

    At least 10 scholarships will be awarded this year to graduating seniors from San Fernando High School. Students attending a 4-year university will receive awards of $1,000, and students attending a community college or technical school will receive awards of $500.

    Eligibility

    1. You must be a high school senior enrolled at San Fernando High School.
    2. You must have at least a 2.0 cumulative high school GPA.
    3. You must enroll at a community college, technical school or 4-year university by the Fall 2026 semester.

    Required Documentation

    1) Completed Online Application (Due Friday, April 3, 2026) – Application can be found at www.sfhsalumni.org.

    Selection

    Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

    1) Academic Achievement

    2) Personal Essay

    3) Recommendation

    4) Interview --- Based on the criteria outlined in numbers 1-3 above, selected finalists will be invited to an interview.

    Important Dates

    1. Application (including all required documents) must be submitted by 6pm PT on Friday, April 3, 2026. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be eligible.
    2. Scholarship recipients must attend the SFHS Senior Awards Night (date and time TBD).
    3. Scholarship recipients must attend a mandatory scholarship recipient orientation.
    4. Recipients must submit proof of enrollment for their institution by October 23, 2026. Failure to submit by this date will result in scholarship forfeiture. Any scholarship that is not claimed by December 31, 2026 is automatically forfeited.

    Important Notes

    1) Applicants should check their email regularly! The Scholarship Selection Committee corresponds with applicants via email. Failure to respond to email in a timely manner may result in disqualification of the application process.

    2) Scholarship recipients must notify the SFHS Alumni Association (sfhsalumni@gmail.com) if they change their college selection after receiving their scholarship check.

    3) Scholarship recipients must notify the SFHS Alumni Association (sfhsalumni@gmail.com) if they postpone their enrollment beyond the Fall of 2025.

    A completed application should include all of the following:

    A. Completed SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

    Application must be completed online at www.sfhsalumni.org before 6 pm on Friday, April 3, 2026. No hard-copy applications will be accepted.

    B. Recommendation

    Please ask a teacher, coach, mentor, or individual who knows you well, to submit a short statement in support of your application. Responses can be submitted here: https://forms.gle/3DgbFGV53yKgQjpH9.

    C. Personal Essay (choose one of the following topics)

    If you have any questions, please email the SFHS Alumni Association Scholarship Committee at sfhsalumni@gmail.com.

    The essay must be typed, double-spaced, and no more than 750 words. Please type your name on your essay. Don’t forget to double-check spelling and grammar.

    1. Describe a challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken or took to overcome this challenge.
    2. What have you done to make your school or your community a better place?
    3. Discuss a time when you had a significant impact on a team or project.
    4. How would receiving this scholarship impact your life?

    Tiger2Tiger Campaign

    Tigers Raising Money for Scholarships

    Every year in March, the SFHS Alumni Association hosts the Tiger2Tiger online fundraising campaign! All money raised goes towards scholarships for SFHS Seniors. In order to bring about some friendly competition, our campaign features the Battle of the Decades to see which decade can raise the most money -- 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 10s. Follow our campaign every March via our Facebook group: San Fernando High School Alumni Association.
